SPRING back into Yoga! 2012

Hey there everyone!!  I am HOME.

It was a remarkable and amazing time in Costa Rica teaching yoga retreats, and then with my sisters in New Mexico, but I can't tell you how nice it is to be settled back into a routine, sleep in my own bed, and not live out of a suitcase. (Now where did I put my shampoo??)  I am blessed to have sisters who love me and accept me for all my quirks and faults.  We did so much laughing - and I feel refreshed.

Are you ready to SPRING back in to Yoga?  I am!!  So looking forward to our next six week yoga series!  I have to say that I was leaning toward creating a series that will teach the components of cultivating and growing your home practice...of course, each class will have lots of movement!  But I am open to hear your thoughts, and of course, would love to hear ideas on what you feel you need.

I will send out a FINAL schedule next Monday (3/26) to all on my distribution list, but below is an abbreviated and tenative schedule.  If you see a class that will work for you, but the time is off a bit (for example you could come Fridays at 11 but not 10:45 - PLEASE let me know.  Although I can't promise to make it work for everyone, I will adjust where I can.)

Remember you don't need to be experienced to practice yoga....we all are on the same journey.  Yoga creates space for peace, flexibility and strength.  Many of us do not practice because we already possess these things...we see the need and begin cultivating these qualities in our lives as we practice.  Yoga is personal - and we practice right where we are with our weakness and strengths but without judgment, comparison or competition.  When practicing yoga, you will experience a multitude of health benefits not to mention a well balanced and more peaceful life!

Spring Incentive - join a six week series ($45 for the series) beginning April 2nd, and when you bring a friend who has never practiced with me before - your series will be FREE!  This incentive does not apply to classes at the Westside Community Center or Woodmen Valley since those classes are already a reasonably low rate of $5 and $6 a class compared to the local industry prices of $12 - $15 a class.  Reserve your spot and rsvp me soon.

I am grateful and appreciative to each of you!  You enrich my life and give me so much joy by sharing your heart and life experiences with me!  I am learning and growing and plan to never stop.  I invite you to come and grow with me this Spring!

See you soon,
Shalom ~ Pamela

Winter Yoga Series

Yoga WINTER SERIES Schedule - January and February 2012:
All classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. I am here to help you! Come with a open heart and mind! If you have a mat, please bring it with you. I also have a limited number to share. Wear comfy clothes you can move in, and bring water. Also, if you have a light fleece blanket, block and strap, bring them as well; these are helpful props to have on hand. You can find them all at Wal-mart. The block and strap set is about $11 and the fleece blankets are $6. If you need assistance with acquiring props, please let me know. After the first of the year, I will no longer carry props for everyone - just a few for new students. I hope you understand.
Thank you!

If you are new to yoga or just new to class, come about 10 min early to your first class.  Then we can get to know one another, and you will have time to fill out a registration/release form.
I am looking forward to a great 2012 - expecting God to show up in our lives in a HUGE way!  Come enjoy the journey!!

Shalom,
Pamela

Classes are approximately 60-75 minutes long. However, chair yoga is only 50 minutes. Arriving at least 5 minutes prior to class will allow you time to sign in, set up your mat and prepare for class. If you are late, please come. Just enter very quietly so out of respect you do not disturb others. Be sure to visit any class near you for a reinvigorating or restful class. I would love to see you!

Lastly, although your mat is not sacred, it is your personal space to meet with God. Therefore out of respect for others, we do not walk on another's mat, nor do we loudly 'unfurl' our mats. Prepare your minds by entering into your practice quietly.
Thank you

Unwind this Summer - With Yoga

Summer is almost here! Or at least I think it is. Our spring time here in the Rockies has been cold and wet. We need the moisture, and after knowing the tragedies other staes are experiencing through natural disasters, I am not going to complain at all about our minor weather inconveniences.

Please remember in your prayers, all of those who have suffered great loss.

I want to invite you to take advantage of yoga opportunites this summer; join us for a wonderful series - Experiencing Your Gifts, taught by my dear friend (and experienced teacher), Sarah Hogan and myself.  Call 719.385.7920 to register by June 13.

Or share a Saturday morning rise and shine with me here at my home studio.

There will also be yoga hikes - opportunities to celebrate life in God's creation, while breathing in the surrounding beauty. All the details are below.

Questions? Please call me. 719.352.9272.

Take the time this summer to really unwind. Connect with God, with friends and family, with self. Seek gratitude and enjoy the gifts and blessings God has given. And be sure to share your joy with others.

Shalom,
Pamela

Class Descriptions

Morning Stretch:
Class begins with a gentle awakening of the body with warm up stretching, followed by arm and abdominal work. Coming onto the hands and knees attention is given for stretching the legs and side body. While on the feet sun salutations and warrior series are practiced. Finishing on the floor with gentle back bends and spinal twists. The session ends with the most important pose, Savasana or resting pose. Recommended for all levels.

Gentle Journey:
Similar flows as “Morning Stretch”, but poses are held for a longer period of time to increase strength. A reflective break-a-sweat practice designed to de-stress and tone mind, body, soul. Focus is given to strength building and learning balance. Great for beginners and students of all ages and fitness levels.

Faithful Flow:
A peaceful intermediate level practice to get you sweating and centered. Balancing poses like Tree, Crane and Warrior Three are added. To assist with balancing poses, breathing techniques or Pranayamas will be introduced. This class leaves you energized and ready to take on the day. Recommended for those looking for a challenge.

Rest and Restore:
Set in a darkened room this class is an excellent way to unwind after a long day. Receive the same benefits that come from the Morning Stretch and Gentle Journey classes, but at a slower, more relaxed pace. Recommended for all levels looking for a restorative experience.
